A Case of Cryptococcosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Cryptococcosis is a cosmopolitan infectious disease of men which begins as a primary infec￢tion of the lung and which may spread to the central nervous system in susceptible subjects. The disease is encountered more frequently in patient in those receiving prolonged therapy with steroids and immunosuppresive agents as opportunistic infection.
Cryptococcosis responds well to Amphotericin B and Flucytosine when the diagnosis was early made.
We experienced cryptococcosis in a 14 years and 3 months old female with good response to Amphotericin B and Flucytosine. Brief review of the related literatures were also made.
